In a recent post on Twitter, Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell wanted to share his honest thoughts on Donald Trump‘s comment considering his popularity around the whole world.

Donald Trump was the 45th president of the United States and is known for his controversial decision-making strategies as well as debatable comments often made in his speeches. Even though he had a lot of supporters, he lost the presidential run against Joe Biden last year.

During one of his rallies in North Carolina before the election, Trump had claimed that only Jesus Christ is more popular than him in the world and created another controversy back in the days. As you may recall, John Lennon had said something similar about the Beatles and it is often cited as one of the reasons why he was murdered by Mark David Chapman in 1980.

The video in which Donald Trump makes the statement mentioned above was recently shared by dozens of newspapers and the criticism about it spread quite fast on social media. One of the people who criticized Trump for his claims was Perry Farrell.

Perry said that while being famous is one thing, being loved is something you need to work for. He mentioned that Trump is not a celebrity or beloved persona but rather an individual known for notoriety. Afterward, he compared Trump with Jesus.

As Perry mentioned all the good and miraculous things that Jesus has done, he also revealed the worst things that Trump has done during his presidency, which is why he shouldn’t compare himself with Jesus.

Perry Farrell shared his thoughts with these words:

“Famous is 1 thing. Being beloved, that’s something to be… If you’re going to compare yourself with Jesus; then let’s: Yeshua surfed, you golf. He threw over the lending tables, you owe lenders more than a billion dollars. He saves, you shoot rubber bullets.”

He went on to add:

“I don’t dislike golfers (unless they’re playing with lenders)… I put you more in the Jim Jones category. Raises the name of the Lord to make money off the poor. Except he only killed about a thousand people. With your Covid anti-vax bull, you took out half a million (still climbing).”
