Pilgrim’s Paradox was founded in 2014 by the guitarist “Yıldırım Kıratlıoğlu” and the keyboardist “Umutcan Güney”. They began concerts in Ankara scene immediately when the bands line-up takes the final shape with vocalist “Murat Özgen Özkan”, bassist “Erkin Aydın” and drummer “Oğuz Dindar”.

At that time, they are known for their energetic interpretations of the pieces from Blues-based rock bands, especially from the late 60s and early 70s. In 2015, band changed it’s name to “Flash and the Gang” and went to work on composing their own songs. At the same time, the group took the name “Pilgrim’s Paradox”, thinking that the old name did not reflect their music.

After long rehearsals, in November 2016, the band began recording their first EPs consisting of 4 songs in Mirage Studios. They finished recording and mixing phase with the valuable contribution of Ayhan Aydın, Uğur Karaman and Bulut Gör, then towards the summer of 2017, band completed the mastering phase with “Scott Hull” who previously worked with famous musicians such as Bruce Springsteen, Miles Davis, Garbage etc.

One of the songs in the album features the vocalist “Batu Akdeniz”, who has an awesome and unique voice and great career both with his band “Heavy Sky” and solo. With Ahmet Doğukan Başöner’s cover art, band released the EP on 14th of August this year on every major digital platform.

The EP has an eclectic blend of Blues, Hard Rock, Folk and Jazz influences, and contains the soul of the music made by the likes of Johnny Winter, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Wishbone Ash, Allman Brothers Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Humble Pie.
