The official Instagram and Twitter accounts of Pink Floyd have posted a common photo of Storm Thorgerson and celebrated his birthday with sincere messages on both social media accounts.

Storm Thorgerson was the designer of most of the cover art of Pink Floyd’s and also the legendary ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ cover. He was the childhood friend of David Gilmour himself and he also designed the well-known cover arts of Alan Parson and Muse. He has lost his long-time battle with cancer in 2013 at the age of 69.

While the official Instagram and Twitter accounts of the band have shared the photo of Storm to celebrate his 69th birthday, they did not write anything about his birthday. Instead, Pink Floyd fans have noticed that the photos were shared for his birthday and posted their messages for it.

While some of the fans think that Storm was one of the greatest graphic designers of all time, some of them claimed that he was the fifth arm to Pink Floyd.

Here is what’s written on both Twitter and Instagram posts:

“Always one for grand gestures, this isn’t just a “storm in a teacup”, it’s the Floyd’s cover designer Storm Thorgerson completely surrounded by them!”
