One of the most legendary fan pages on whole social media, FreddieMercuryClub posted a recent photo of Freddie and they showed how much shy he was in his prime.

As you might check out the caption of the photo of Freddie right below, they also shared the statement of the famous photographer, Denis O’Regan’s words about Freddie in the caption.

Here is what they wrote:

💥Freddie & “Doris”💥

“When I first saw Freddie I was shocked as he looked so big and strong on stage but in person, I found him very petite and delicate. I didn’t find him difficult to photograph, although I was surprised to see how shy he really was. He would never really pose as such.

He would clown around, or ignore me and just be ‘himself’. He might appear at the door wearing a crown and throw a few shapes, knowing I was there–but not specifically inviting me to take photographs. He always knew what he was doing, of course. I also noticed he had a temper but was extremely apologetic at the same time.

His magic was all down do the live performance. I think you have to be born with that kind of shiny star quality. Not being ‘straight,’ if you like, he almost didn’t have as much to prove up there as the rest of them. He’d go onstage and take the piss out of an audience, where others might have felt they wouldn’t risk it. He was just one of a kind!”

-Denis O’Regan (Photographer)

P.S. Denis O’regan was Queen’s photographer through the years and he’s the same guy who’s seen in the Budapest footage I posted who stands proudly next to Freddie and asks Richard Young to photograph the two and then Richard asks Denis to the same for him.

As you’re aware Freddie would bestow the people in his life with female drag names and Denis was nicknamed “Doris” as a sign of his joining the Mercury circle.
Just look at Denis’s proud and happy face in the photo…that seems to be the effect Freddie had on everyone around him. To be a photographer and working with Freddie…the BORN legend with “shiny star quality” 👊💛👑
