Queen co-founder and also the long-time guitarist of the band, Brian May, took his official Instagram page today and mourned the legendary British actress Barbara Windsor, who passed away at the age of 83.
Dame Barbara Windsor was best known for her unforgettable roles in EastEnders and Carry On movies. In her long-time career, she received many awards like BAFTA, Tony Award, A Lifetime Achievement Award, and Best Actress Award at the British Soap Awards. Lately in her career, she mostly impressed her fans with her talent as a voice actor. Her most famous performance was within the live-action adaptation of ‘Alice In Wonderland’ which was directed by Tim Burton.
Unfortunately, back in 2014, Windsor was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Although Barbara did not want to make her issues public, her husband Scott Mitchell made a public announcement back in 2019 and confirmed the diagnosis of his wife.
Since August 2020, Windsor had been under the care of her doctors in a care home in London. According to the official statement, Barbara passed away at 8:35 pm on December 10, 2020, at the age of 83.
After Barbara’s sad loss, Queen guitarist Brian May posted a picture of the iconic actress on his Instagram account to bid her farewell. In the caption of his post, May penned a simple message about Windsor and praised her career full of various achievements.
