Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke was recently interviewed by The Times’ Alex Lake and revealed the similarities between legendary band Nirvana and talented young star Billie Eilish.
Thom revealed that he took her daughter to Billie Eilish concert and he thinks that she had lots of similarities between her and Nirvana, just like nobody’s telling her what to do.
Here is his statement:
“We sat down and whats-his-name, the guy who did the Bond film we didn’t do [Sam Smith]?
He stands behind us and I’m sitting with my daughter, her friends, and my girlfriend when suddenly everyone goes ‘Saaaam!’ I’m, like, ‘Aaaaargh!’
I like Billie Eilish. She’s doing her own thing. Nobody’s telling her what to do.“
Earlier, Nirvana star Dave Grohl had an interview with Variety and praised the young American star.
Here is his statement:
“My daughters are obsessed with Billie Eilish. And what I’m seeing happening with my daughters is the same thing that happened to me at their age. My daughters are listening to Billie Eilish and they’re becoming themselves through her music. She totally connects to them.
“So we went to go see her play at the Wiltern, and that connection that she has with her audience is the same thing that was happening with Nirvana in 1991. The people in the audience know every word.”
