Red Hot Chili Peppers bass guitarist Flea celebrated the birthday of famous late rapper Russell Tyrone Jones, known as Ol’ Dirty Bastard, by sharing a new post on his official Instagram account.

Ol’ Dirty Bastard, ODB, was a rapper and producer who was one of the founding members of the Wu-Tang Clan. He was nominated for the best rap album twice and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for once in 1999.

On November 13, 2004, ODB collapsed in the recording studio two days before his 36th birthday and passed away. Reportedly, the cause of death was an overdose, which autopsy found a lethal mixture of cocaine in his body.

While celebrating Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s birthday, Flea also mourned the death of the famous rapper and paid his tribute to ODB. Also, Flea praised his talent and stated that ODB is one of the musicians who brings joy to the audience.
