Considered as one of the most talented songwriters and American western folk music stars of all time, Woodrow Wilson Guthrie, was remembered by Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea, on his official Instagram account today.

After dying because of Huntington’s Disease in 1967, many of Woodrow songs like ‘This Land Is Your Land’ has been covered by numerous talented artists. Also, he is known for his anti-fascist thought. Woody is also very famous with his legendary quote that was written on his guitar in early 1940s: “This machine (guitar) kills fascists!”

One of his finest fans in the community, Flea, has posted an iconic photo of Woody and shared the admiration he has for him by saying that he learned lots of him. Furthermore, Flea said that he was a great American citizen that everybody should look up to.

After sharing his love and respect for Woody, many fans went to the comment section to share their condolences for Woody and over 30K people liked the post.

Here is the short but meaningful letter of Flea to Woody:

“Woody Guthrie was a beautiful man, I love him so much. He lifts me up with his humor, teaches me by shining a light on the ugly hypocrisies of our country, fills me up with his love for the freedom and majesty of our country, and rocks my world with his one-of-a-kind artistry.

He was a great American and my heart soared with joy when we sang This Land is Your Land in my daughter’s preschool class.”
