Red Hot Chili Peppers’ iconic bass guitarist Flea took to his official Twitter account to remember the mistake that he did while mourning the death of Ian Curtis.

Ian was known for his bass-baritone voice and the vocalist of Joy Division who recorded two albums with the band, Unknown Pleasures and Closer. Unfortunately, he committed suicide at the age of 23.

On his birthday, Flea wanted to mourn his death and remember the legacy that he left into this world. However, Flea made a mistake while trying to post a poignant thing about him on Instagram.

Flea admitted that he shared a picture of the actor who played Ian Curtis instead of Ian himself and mentioned how a great personality he was. Even though Flea failed in a bizarre way, he made fun of himself and showed that he is a person who can be at peace with himself.

Here is what Flea wrote:

“Remember the time on Instagram on Ian Curtis’ birthday I posted a big poignant thing about how beautiful he is, but the photo I put was of an actor playing him that was so great.”
