Red Hot Chili Peppers star Flea shared a rare photo of famous trumpet player Jon Hassell on his verified Instagram page today and shared his thoughts on the late legend.
As you may already follow Jon’s career that he’s considered as one of the most talented trumpet players in the history of the United States. As a Memphis, Tennessee-born musician, he’s mostly known for developing the concept of ‘Fourth World’ music and released more than twenty studio albums as a leader or co-leader.
In his 51 years long career, he worked with many legends Michael Brook, Erik Truffaz, and David Sylvian. According to the official statement of the authorities, Jon passed away from this world at the age of 84 from natural causes on June 26, 2021, after having health issues for two years.
Today, his long-time fan and Red Hot Chili Peppers star Flea took his verified Instagram account to share his thoughts on Jon by admitting that it was an honor to record and spent time with him.

“Ahh, Jon Hassell has broken through to the other side. What a beautiful and innovative musician!!! It was an honor to record and hang with him, bless his infinite heart.”
