Iconic Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has shared a new post on his official Instagram account, devastated after the death of the legendary jazz pianist, McCoy Tyner.

Jazz pianist McCoy Tyner has died at the age of 81. The death of Tyner was announced on his Facebook page. He was known as one of the most influential figures in jazz.

After Tyner’s death, Flea took to social media to pay his tribute and show his respect for the legendary jazz pianist. He declared his love and admiration for him in an open letter.

Here’s what Flea wrote:

“McCoy Tyner! I celebrate you. What a groundbreaking sound, a momentous rhythm, a profound sense of melody and harmony that drew me deep into a trance. That left hand!

Every time I saw you play live I knew I was witnessing the highest of human accomplishment. You give me hope for humanity. I love you McCoy, R.I.P.”
