In a behind-the-scenes video of the Def Leppard Stadium Tour, Rick Savage stated that he has the most incredible job ever by performing with the band in front of thousands of fans.

Def Leppard has proved themselves as one of the crucial parts of the new wave of the British heavy metal movement of the early ’80s. The band has been together since 1977, and they still produce new music and continue to perform live for their fans. They took a long break after their self-titled album in 2015. However, after the pandemic, they released their new album ‘Diamond Star Halos’ this past May.

The band was scheduled to head out on the Stadium Tour in 2020, where they would headline with Mötley Crüe, including the participation of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Poison. But the COVID-19 pandemic prevented events from continuing worldwide, and they had to reschedule it a few times. The tour, which the fans have been looking forward to for two years, finally started this year in June and will conclude in September.

After the Detroit show on July 10, Savage shared his thoughts about how he felt the crowd with him all through the night. He stated that such nights, where the crowd’s and their energy matches on stage, make him realize that he has the best job in the world to perform with Def Leppard every night. He feels proud to be a member of this great band.

Rick Savage’s words on playing with Def Leppard:

“Wow, Detroit. What a show. The crowd was fantastic. There was just great energy about the set. Just within the stadium, from the get-go, right from the start, it was, like, bang! And we were with the crowd. The crowd was with us all the way. And it just kept going like that; it just kept going up and up and up and up. It was just a great night, an absolutely great night.

It’s one of those nights where it reminds you what a great job I’ve got; it reminds me what a great job I’ve got. Playing in a band like this is just fantastic. And every so often you have a night like tonight that jogs your memory, and you go, ‘I’ve got the best job in the world.’ And it was because it was fantastic.”
