Judas Priest’s Rob Halford shared a picture on his Instagram to display his fans the bullet which has Lemmy Kilmister‘s ashes in it.

Rob Halford’s friendship with Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister dates back to the 70s when Judas Priest and Motörhead began to share the same stage together for various concerts. Due to that, both Halford and Kilmister spent so much time together for over forty years as close friends.

Throughout his life, Lemmy Kilmister suffered from various health issues. He was hospitalized in December 2000 as a result of flu, lung infection, and exhaustion, and in 2005, the musician was hospitalized again as a result of extreme dehydration. On the other hand, his drug and alcohol abuse also contributed to his deteriorating health.

Towards the end of his life, Lemmy Kilmister’s health condition caused him to use a walking stick. On December 18, 2015, four days after he turned 70, Kilmister died from prostate cancer, cardiac arrhythmia, and congestive heart failure. After his death, his body was cremated, and his ashes were put into bullets and sent to his closest friends.

Rob Halford was also among the others who received this meaningful gift. In a recent Instagram post, he shared a picture of the bullet which contains Lemmy’s ashes and Ronnie James Dio’s ring which he received from his widow Wendy Dio with a simple caption: ‘Ronnie & Lemmy.’

Rob Halford’s Instagram post read:

“Ronnie & Lemmy.”
