Metallica’s bassist Robert Trujillo recently posted a photo with his sons on his Instagram account and announced that he will be reuniting with his band in order to make some new music.

As you may recall, Metallica released their last studio album ‘Hardwired… to Self-Destruct’ back in 2016 and it was a huge success. It ranked Number 1 on the United States Billboard 200 charts and was highly appreciated by both critics and their fans. Following that, in 2019, they released ‘S&M2‘ which was a live album in collaboration with the San Francisco Symphony.

Since then, the band members have been hinting that they have been working on a new album that might be released soon. In a recent interview, Lars Ulrich had said that the band has been working virtually on their upcoming album which going to be the best and heaviest one ever, but had also confessed that working virtually is really hard for a metal band.

With his recent Instagram post, Trujillo signaled that the band is reuniting soon to physically work on their new album. In the caption of his post, he said that he’s spending one last day at the skate park with his sons before he leaves to go ‘back north to make some music with the crew.’ This message really excited Metallica fans who have been looking forward to the band’s upcoming album.

Here’s what Rob Trujillo said in the caption of his recent Instagram post:

“One last skate with these two before I head back north to make some music with the crew 🤟🏽 Metallica #veniceskatepark #familytime #skateboardingisfun #ripcity #metallica”
