After hearing the sad news of Toots Hibbert’s death, The Rolling Stones icon Mick Jagger took to his official Instagram page and shared his condolences to the legendary Jamaican and his family.
While he’s a well-respected friend of The Rolling Stones members, Keith Richards was the first member of the band that sent his condolences to the fans of Toots. Later on, Mick has sent one of the most legendary frames of the Jamaican star and praised him with beautiful words.
Later on, other Stones legend Ronnie Wood took to his account and wrote this:
“I’d like to send my condolences to the Hibbert family for my dear friend Toots Hibbert who passed away on Friday.
I have very happy memories of playing with him over the years, a lovely man and a great talent. God bless Toots. Toots and the Maytals’ music will live on! 🙏🎶”
Unfortunately, Toots Hibbert has left this world today after he was at treatment in the hospital. The cause of death has not been announced by the family yet but they indicated that Toots passed away peacefully last night, surrounded by his family at the University Hospital of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica.
While sharing a strong message about Toots, Mick also did not forget to mention Toots & The Maytals’ signature song which was recorded back in 1975: ‘Pressure Drop.’
Here is the emotional message of Mick Jagger:
“So sad to hear of Toots Hibbert’s passing. When I first heard Pressure Drop that was a big moment.
He had such a powerful voice and on stage, he always gave the audience his total energy. A sad loss to the music world.”
