The world-famous rock scene photographer, Ross Halfin, recently posted a series of Kirk Hammett photos on his Instagram account and revealed that he took them just some days ago at the last place that he had visited before the outbreak of COVID-19.
Ross William Halfin is probably the most well-known rock and roll photographer of all time and he has been in the rock/metal scene since 1976. He’s worked with dozens of iconic bands such as Metallica, KISS, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, and many more.
He’d made it to our headlines numerous times before in relation to his work with Metallica, and with his recent post, he revealed that he’s gotten back to work with the band’s lead guitarist Kirk Hammett. Just some hours ago, he posted a series of photos featuring Kirk Hammett and said that they belong to the ‘Waikiki April 2021‘ collection.
In the caption of his post, Halfin revealed that Hawai was the last place that he visited alongside Kirk back in January 2020. So, now that it has been over a year since the outbreak of the pandemic, they thought that it’d be a great idea to ‘go back to the same spot and shoot some more silhouettes.’
Halfin said that they shot all the photos ‘whilst listening to Judas Priest – Live at The Mudd Club 1979 and UFO – Strangers in the Night Deluxe Box Set,’ and expressed his happiness for getting to travel and do his job after such a long break.
Here’s what Ross Halfin said in the caption of his recent post:
“Mr. Kirk Hammett – Waikiki April 2021. We took these whilst listening to Judas Priest – Live at The Mudd Club 1979 and UFO – Strangers in the Night Deluxe Box Set. The last time I was in Hawaii with Kirk was January 2020 before the pandemic so we thought we’d go back to the same spot and shoot some more silhouettes. See if you can guess the guitars.”
