Former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar posted a scene from a popular TV series and shared how he felt after a character said that he is the best Van Halen singer after David Lee Roth.

As you may know, in 1985, the Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth left the band to pursue a solo career, and Eddie Van Halen hired Sammy Hagar after he saw his remarkable performance in Montrose. In the Van Hagar era, the band released their hit records, ‘5150,’ ‘OU812,’ ‘For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge,’ and ‘Balance.’

However, a disagreement between Eddie Van Halen and Sammy Hagar caused his departure in 1996. After the hiatus, Van Halen reunited with David Lee Roth, and Hagar continued his career as a solo artist and founded several bands. Their fans have been arguing about which frontman is the best ever since.

The comedy series ‘Ted Lasso’ also reflected their opinion about the ongoing debate. After the main character, Ted Lasso, saw a room numbered 5150, he said that the Red Rocker is ‘the greatest singer in Van Halen history in the post-David Lee Roth era.’ Hagar stated in his tweet that he was so surprised that he had to rewind the scene.

Here’s what Hagar wrote in his IG post:

“To my surprise, my new favorite series all the sudden this came on. I had my little buzz on and had to rewind.

In Ted Lasso’s words, he said:

“Wow! Room 5150 finally. Sammy Hagar, the greatest lead singer in Van Halen history in the post-David Lee Roth era.

Even though Sammy Hagar didn’t criticize the comment, his fans targeted the scenes and wrote that he is the best singer in Van Halen, not David Lee Roth. Hagar responded to these comments with emojis, which can be a sign of his approval.
