Former Van Halen frontman and the current member of The Circle, Sammy Hagar posted the video of his live show in his restaurant named Cabo Wabo, however, he became the target of criticism since many people were not wearing masks in the video.
The 73-year-old rock icon has been conducting various businesses including his restaurant in Mexico, Cabo Wabo, and his tequila brand named ‘Santo Spirit,’ which he formed with Emmy Award-winning chef and restaurateur Guy Fieri. Hagar also has a rum brand, ‘Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum,’ which is a collaboration with the well-known musician Rick Springfield.
Recently on Instagram, Sammy Hagar posted a video of his live performance in front of the audience at his own restaurant, Cabo Wabo. In the caption of his video, Sammy mentioned that they were only allowed to have half of the usual capacity in the restaurant. He also claimed that people were following the Covid-19 measures by wearing masks and being socially distanced.
Here is what Sammy Hagar stated in the caption of his video:
“We were only allowed do you have 50% table capacity, With social distancing and masks. We did the best we could. people can still have fun, even under the circumstances.”
However, fans were not convinced that Hagar really followed the rules during his live concert since it can be clearly seen that people sitting in the front row were not wearing masks at all. In the comment section of Sammy’s video, his fans and followers criticized his behavior of having a live show in his restaurant without minding the Covid-19 measures considering the ongoing pandemic.
When a fan directly criticized Sammy for putting people’s lives in danger, the iconic musician responded with a comment saying the fan was wrong about his reaction since the tables were placed away from each other to be safe.
Here’s how Sammy Hagar responded to the criticism about his live show:
“Are you kidding me everyone was after tables with their families and loved ones the tables were spaced way apart look closely put on your glasses I was on stage by myself Hope you’re safe and happy new year.”
