Former Van Halen vocalist and the current member of The Circle, Sammy Hagar, recently posted a photo on his Instagram account and then responded to a fans’ question considering his preferred Van Halen song to perform from Van Halen’s previous era.
As you probably know, Sammy Hagar is one of the rockstars who are the most active on their social media accounts. He often uses his Instagram account to post sneak peeks from his life, recall the days in which he would perform with Van Halen, and of course, interact with his fans.
Recently, Sammy Hagar posted a photo with Eddie and Michael Anthony on his Instagram account where the three of them can be seen performing together. There is no doubt that the band members had some good times together from 1985 to 1996, and although they parted ways after a series of disagreements, ‘Van Hagar‘s work always remained special to Van Halen fans.
The dispute about whether the David Lee Roth era was better than the Sammy Hagar era is a heated one, to say the least. After Sammy Hagar’s recent Instagram post with Van Halen members, a fan told Hagar that they preferred the way he sang the Roth songs. After this statement, they went on to ask which DLR era song is Sammy’s favorite one to perform to which Sammy responded with ‘You Really Got Me’ and ‘Unchained.’
Here’s what Sammy said in the caption of his recent Instagram post:
“Mikey trying to get in on the action!”
This is what a fan commented:
“Hey Sam, I always loved the way you sang the Roth tunes. I actually prefer the way you sang them LOL. What was your favorite one to sing?
‘You Really Got Me,’ ‘Panama,’ ‘Ain’t Talkin Bout Love,’ ‘Jump,’ ‘Runnin With The Devil,’ ‘Unchained’?”
To which Sammy Hagar responded:
‘You Really Got Me’ and ‘Unchained.’
