Former Van Halen lead singer Sammy Hagar posted a photo of himself to thank their fans for their interest in his concert on his Instagram account. After a fan asked him to share his ideas about David Lee Roth not opening for KISS, he responded in a peculiar way.
As you know, KISS’s End Of The Road tour dates were rescheduled for 2021 and 2022 following the global pandemic outbreak. Even though the rock legends had announced that ex-Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth would be the opening act during the band’s farewell tour, they recently changed their minds.
In one of his previews interviews, KISS bassist Gene Simmons revealed that Roth has been replaced by painter David Garibaldi and added that even though Roth used to be the ultimate frontman, he isn’t as good anymore. Roth responded to Simmons’s ideas by sharing a picture of a boy holding his middle finger up and wrote ‘Roth to Simmons’ on it.
KISS frontman Paul Stanley also joined this argument, saying that he disagreed with Simmons and that Roth is still Diamond Dave. Sammy Hagar, who knew Roth very well, broke his silence considering this discussion after a fan’s question requesting the musician’s opinion. Hagar responded to the question with laughing emojis on his Instagram.
Here’s what a fan asked:
“Sammy! What are your thoughts on David Lee Roth getting kicked off the KISS tour?“
Hagar responded:
“Laughing emojis.”
