Former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar shared his opinion about an old picture of him along with Eddie Van Halen by sharing a new post on his official Twitter account.

Sammy joined Van Halen back in 1985, replacing David Lee Roth. The replacement was so great that some of the fans even called the band ‘Van Hagar.’ However, the Van Hagar era only lasted a little over a decade after Sammy left the band in 1996.

In 2003, Sammy reunited with Van Halen once again, but they only performed on live shows this time. Unfortunately, the reunion cut short following the tension between Eddie and Sammy, and they eventually parted ways in 2005.

Even though Sammy and Eddie didn’t get along back in the days, their friendship remained until the death of Eddie Van Halen, who passed away in October 2020 after his long-time fight against cancer.

Yesterday, Sammy saw a picture of him with Eddie from 1986 where they were playing guitars next to each other and having a great time while doing so. As Sammy said, it is hard to believe that this picture was taken 35 years ago.

Furthermore, Sammy pointed out that he used to trade off guitar licks with Eddie constantly during their live performances and showed the close friendship they had back in the days.

Sammy Hagar shared his thoughts about the iconic picture:

“Wow look at those two young men. It’s hard to believe so much time has gone by, that was 1986, 35 years ago, holy shit. Even crazier that I used to trade off guitar licks back-and-forth with Eddie Van Halen on stage every night. Hah Hah Hah Hah Hah Hah…”
