Former Van Halen star and almost a half-million followed social media personality, Sammy Hagar, has shared a new photo on his official social media accounts today. Hagar has reminded the day he has performed with Boston and Gary Pihl, back in 1980.
Sammy Hagar After Sammy Hagar posted the photo on both Instagram and Twitter, former Metallica bass guitarist, Ron McGovney responded to the message of Sammy. As you will check out the tweets right below, Ron stated that he was in the audience that night and he’s a Hagar fan since that day.
By the way, some of the fans claimed that they remember seeing the show. A fan named Billy stated that Sammy was selling ‘Red Rocker’ on the front, and ‘Hagar Kicks Ass’ on the back shirts as merchandise.
Sammy Hagar wrote this on the tweet he has sent:
“Throwback to opening for Boston in 1980–81. Coincidentally Gary Phil eventually joined Boston when I joined Van Halen. #TBT”
Here is what Ron McGovney wrote under the post:
“Saw you blow Boston off the stage on March 1st, 1979 at the L.A. Forum.
Red Rocker fan ever since!”
