Former Van Halen vocalist and the current member of The Circle, Sammy Hagar, recently posted a photo on his Instagram account and recalled the day in which Van Halen had gotten a great gig and was going to perform in front of thousands of people.

As you know, Sammy Hagar enjoys using his social media accounts to announce his latest projects, share his views on rock music and musicians, and of course, post sneak peeks from his life as a rockstar and entrepreneur. He had recently opened up about his final phone call with Eddie Van Halen and it seems like this got him thinking about his days with Van Halen

Sammy Hagar was one of the few lucky rockstars who got to perform live for his devoted fans on New Year’s Eve. However, now that he got a taste of it, it seems like he’s not ready to let go of the stage and the thrill of performing live. Looking at old photos, Sammy Hagar remembered the days in which he could do live shows with Van Halen in front of thousands of people.

Back in 1988, Van Halen was touring in promotion of ‘5150‘ which was the band’s first album with Sammy Hagar who had replaced David Lee Roth. The tour was a huge success and was very memorable for both the band’s members and their fans. In his recent Instagram post, Sammy Hagar recalled a concert they gave during that tour in which they had a stadium full of 70,000 listeners.

Here’s what Sammy Hagar said in the caption of his recent Instagram post:

“Oh man, those were the days. About to walk out to a stadium full of 70,000 ready to rock fans. #happy #vanhalen #1988 #WeNeedLiveMusicNow”

It seems apparent that Sammy Hagar can’t wait to be back on stage and what a better way to reminisce the COVID-19 free live music days than to look at photos from his time with the legendary Van Halen.
