Former Van Halen singer and the current member of The Circle, Sammy Hagar, recently posted a photo on his Twitter account with which he announced his favorite track of David Bowie and reminded his fans of Sammy Hagar & The Circle’s new album.

As you may recall, Sammy Hagar & The Circle started doing ‘Lockdown Sessions‘ back in March 2020 when COVID-19 had started spreading throughout the world, and citizens were advised to stay at home. Everything started when the supergroup’s drummer Jason Bonham challenged his bandmates, Sammy Hagar, Vic Johnso, and Michael Anthony to record remotely a warmup jam they only played backstage before concerts.

Sammy Hagar had previously said that the main aim of these sessions was to keep in touch with their fans before they could perform again and brighten up these hard times. However, as time progressed and it became obvious that bands will not be performing anytime soon, These sessions also became a great way for the band to stay together both musically and creatively.

These lockdown sessions then led to a new album by the band which was released on January 8, 2021. ‘Lockdown 2020‘ features 11 tracks recorded virtually and includes the covers of famous songs such as AC/DC‘s ‘Whole Lotta Rosie,’ The Who‘s ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again,’ and David Bowie‘s ‘Heroes.’ In his recent tweet, Sammy Hagar revealed that ‘Heroes’ is his favorite song of David Bowie and that it was such a great experience to get to do a cover of it.

Sammy Hagar also said that he wanted to dedicate this song to all the frontline workers who have been putting their lives at risk so as to keep the rest of us safe and healthy. Furthermore, all proceeds from ‘Heroes’ will be donated to numerous food banks nationwide in order to support people in need who are struggling during these hard times.

Here’s what Sammy Hagar said in his recent tweet:

“David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’ is one of my favorite songs ever, and a chance to tip our hat to all those frontline workers on every level that put their own lives at risk & do their jobs to help others.
