Former Van Halen star and current The Circle member, Sammy Hagar, shared a photo of himself and John Mayer on his official Instagram page today and responded to one of his fans’ question about the differences between John and Eric Clapton.
You may remember from our recently published articles that John Mayer released his new album named ‘Sob Rock’ this week which features ten unique tracks. The album was released via Columbia Records Group and it’s now available for the price of $11.89 for Audio CD, $9.99 for MP3, and $24.49 for Vinyl Edition.
Today, Sammy shared the photo of him and Mayer and praised his long-time friend’s new album saying this is a special record for all music-loving musicians and all listeners all over the world. He also responded to a fan who argued that the album is quite Clapton-like, and said that John can rival the blues legend with his unique talent.
Right after sharing the photo, over 20K followers of Sammy liked the post including Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and Red Hot Chili Peppers star Flea. RHCP star also commented under the post saying he will check Mayer’s new album as soon as possible.
Hagar wrote that caption with the photo:
“Hey, this guy right here next to me in this picture is the one and only John Mayer. He has made a new record ‘SOB ROCK’ this is such a special record for us music-loving musicians and music lovers in general.
Check the guitar solos, The lyrics, the singing, and playing on this record are phenomenal. So tasteful, and gently produced by John and the great Don Was.”
A follower of Sammy wrote:
“I was just listening to it and I was thinking it’s very Clapton-like. John is so good on this album.”
Sammy responded saying:
“Clapton is always been one of my favorites but may I say privately to you: ‘John rivals him.’“
