The Circle frontman Sammy Hagar recently spoke to The San Diego Union-Tribune and reflected on his current career plans. Hagar revealed that he can still sing every song he’s written so he doesn’t intend to end his career at this point.

In his long-term music career spanning over 50 years, the 74-year-old star managed to become one of the most influential musicians of all time with his tenure in various bands but especially with his remarkable solo career. He has remained extremely active to this day. Hagar has been currently working on his new album, Crazy Times’ with his band, The Circle.

The singer has been planning to release it later this year and then, he will embark on a summer tour in support of the upcoming album. There will be 14 shows within the US starting on June 10, 2022. The band will be constantly touring during the summer and the tour is scheduled to end on September 10, 2022. The blues band, George Thorogood & the Destroyers will be opening the tour for them.

During the interview, Sammy Hagar was asked about his future career plans and whether he has any retirement ideas or not. Hagar stated that he can still sing every song he’s written so he doesn’t have any retirement plans yet. He knows where to end but he still feels pretty well on the stage. Hagar revealed that it is not about money anymore but the music still excites him. He thinks that he still performs well enough not to disappoint the fans coming to the shows.

Sammy Hagar’s statements on his future plans:

“I can still sing every song I ever wrote. I put them in a lower key now, and tune down a whole step, not a half step, which is my advice to anybody with semi-perfect pitch. … I have good pitch and I know when I’m off. I told somebody recently: ‘I don’t know how much longer I can do this and still be good.’

Because I don’t need money … it’s not my motivation anymore. It was when I was young. But now, I’m just motivated by doing cool things that excite me, and music still does that … If I couldn’t sing well, I would not do that my fans. Ticket prices are so high that, if I wasn’t good, I wouldn’t do that to people. I will not embarrass myself, or my fans, or my family. But, right now, I’m as strong as a horse, man!”

It is beyond doubt that his fans are quite happy with his latest statements as they would prefer seeing him on stage. Sammy Hagar still feels that he can sing well all his songs so he sees no reason for retirement. He would do that only if he realizes that he can’t perform well enough.
