Former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar recently posted a video on his Instagram account, under which a fan mentioned that they have been watching a Van Halen show from the ’90s and Hagar responded by saying that he hoped he could still be that energetic.
Sammy Hagar has reached great success both as a solo artist and as the vocalist of Van Halen and his band The Circle. As you might recall, Hagar was the vocalist of Van Halen from 1985 until 1996, and then from 2003 until 2005. Thus, he still gets a lot of messages and comments considering his time with Van Halen.
In his recent Instagram post, he shared a video in which the security guard of his club and restaurant ‘Cabo Wabo’ in Mexico. In the video, he asks the security guard what he thinks should happen with the club and the guard basically says that he cannot wait for it to open.
Under this video, a Van Halen fan commented that he has been watching Van Halen’s show in Uniondale in New York in 1991. He stressed that he found it amazing how Hagar was so energetic and that he couldn’t stand still for more than 30 seconds.
Sammy Hagar did not miss the chance to answer to a die-hard Van Halen fan and he said that he wished he could still do things like that. As 30 years have passed since then, it is not at all surprising that Hagar doesn’t have the energy to be that active anymore.
It is obvious that Sammy Hagar misses the days he performed with Van Halen and that was definitely one of his best performances. However, it’s nice that he has all those videos and photos to cherish those memories.
Here’s what his fan said:
“Stay healthy Sam! The World needs more of you! I’m watching the VH Uniondale, NY 10/27/91 show. Damn, I don’t think you stood still for more than 30 seconds. Jumping around and singing like that! The musicianship of VH from 85-96 was amazing!”
To which Sammy Hagar responded:
“I wish I could still do that hahaha.”
