Former Van Halen singer and the current member of The Circle, Sammy Hagar, recently posted a video on his Instagram account and celebrated his fans’ and followers’ new year while saying that ‘people can still have fun, even under the circumstances.’

With his recent Instagram post, Sammy Hagar revealed that he celebrated New Year’s Eve at Cabo Wabo, and kicked off 2020 by performing on stage. He found it necessary to state that the nightclub did take the necessary measures to ensure everyone’s safety and that there was only a 50% table capacity.

Sammy Hagar is the founder of Cabo Wabo, which is a nightclub and restaurant located in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The ‘cantina’ was first launched in 1990 but it was a financial failure. Then, Sammy gave the management to someone else, who proved to be quite talented as Cabo Wabo soon became very popular among locals and tourists.

As you know, after the break of the pandemic at the beginning of 2020, most live performances, tours, and shows were suspended so as to prevent the virus from spreading. However, some states, such as Nevada and Florida, decided that keeping the bars and pubs open, while ensuring social distancing would be good enough.

There are three Cabo Wabo cantinas, in Cabo San Lucas, Las Vegas, and Hollywood, which makes it impossible to say with confidence which was the one that Sammy Hagar kicked off 2020. However, as the state of California has stricter restrictions in comparison to Nevada, it is most probably that Sammy Hagar was in the Las Vegas cantina.

In the video both Sammy and his fans seem to be having a great time sending off 2020 with some rock tunes. Sammy ensured that all the guests wore masks, and kept social distancing and that this didn’t stop them from enjoying themselves.

Here’s what Sammy Hagar said in the caption of his recent Instagram post:

“We were allowed to have 50% table capacity, with social distancing and masks. We did the best we could. People can still have fun, even under the circumstances. #happynewyear #cabowabo #2021″
