Scorpions shared a new Instagram post in which they stated that their album ‘Rock Believer’ is a response to the long-debated ‘rock is dead’ claim.

Following Gene Simmons’s ‘rock is finally dead’ remark in 2014, many rock musicians shared why the KISS icon is wrong. Among the others, Scorpions’ Rudolf Shenker and Klaus Meine decided to take this to another level by responding to him with an album.

In a previous interview, Shenker revealed his thoughts on Scorpions’ forthcoming album ‘Rock Believer’ and its title. He stated that Scorpions has been active in the music scene for more than 50 years, and their fans are true rock believers. According to Shenker, as long as Scorpions keep making music, rock won’t be dead at all.

On the other hand, Klaus Meine joined the debate recently in an interview with Loudwire. He stated that people have claimed rock is dead for many years, but there are still millions of rock believers out there worldwide, which is proof that they are wrong.

In a recent post on Scorpions’ official Instagram account, the band recalled Klaus Meine’s bold remarks and announced the release of ‘Rock Believer’s eponymous lead single. In the post, they also included a sneak peek from the single’s music video.

Scorpions’ Instagram post read:

“Over the years, we’ve heard people say lots of times that rock is dead. But there are still millions of rock believers out there all over the world to prove them wrong.

Our fans are the best in the world… We’ll see you someday somewhere out there because we’re Rock Believers just like you.

The music video for our lead single is out now!”
