Sir Elton John, one of the best-selling music artists of all time, shared a post on his official Instagram page. John announced that a new song with Gorillaz, a successful virtual band, will be released tomorrow.

Gorillaz was founded by musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett in 1998. The band consists of four animated members, Stuart ‘2-D’ Pot, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs. There is also a fictional universe that is presented in music videos.  While Albarn is the only permanent music contributor, Gorillaz’s music often features collaborations.

This time Sir Elton John made a collaboration with Gorillaz and announced it on his official Instagram page with an animated video. While announcing their song, Sir Elton John also revealed his admiration for Gorillaz and stated that he couldn’t refuse the offer to work with them when Damon Albarn asked him to.

Here is what Elton John said about the collaboration:

“The Gorillaz track I worked on is out tomorrow! I’ve always been a Gorillaz fan so when Damon reached out and asked me to get involved it was a no-brainer. The way the song turned out is just great – I can’t wait for you to hear it.”

The song will be out tomorrow, and fans got the opportunity to see a sneak peek from the brand new song thanks to Sir Elton John‘s Instagram post. Fans also loved seeing the two working together.
