The legendary British musician Elton John posted a picture of himself on Instagram to announce that his greatest hits album, ‘Diamonds,’ received a double-platinum award in the UK.
Sir Elton John released his greatest hits collection, ‘Diamonds,’ on November 10, 2017. The album was spanning his hits from 1970 to 2016. Diamonds was released to commemorate Elton’s 50 years of work with lyricist Bernie Taupin, since 1967.
Earlier in August 2020, Elton John’s iconic work was certified with 2x Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry for sales of 600,000 units. Recently, Sir Elton John posted a photo of himself with the award ‘Diamonds’ received on his official Instagram account.
On the caption of his post, John shared the exciting news of his latest achievement with his fans and thanked them for their endless support. He mentioned how important this collection was as a celebration of his 50-year partnership with Bernie Taupin. Elton also added that Diamonds was still the 8th best selling album of this year.
