During a recent interview with Cleveland.com, Guns N’ Roses’s lead guitarist Slash talked about the projects that he has been working on lately, including what his plans are for both his album with Myles Kennedy and Guns N’ Roses.
As you may recall, in 2008, Slash decided to start working on a solo album in which he collaborated with world-renown musicians such as Osbourne, M. Shadows, Chriss Cornell, Fergie, and many more. His self-titled album was released in April 2010 and ranked No.3 on the U.S. charts.
Following that, for his second solo album, Slash decided to work with Guns N’ Roses’s touring members; Myles Kennedy, Todd Kerns, and Brent Fitz. The album ‘Apocalyptic Love‘ was released in May 2012 under the name ‘Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators.’ Two years later, Slash’s third album ‘World on Fire‘ was released under the same name in September 2014.
Finally, Slash released his fourth solo album ‘Living the Dream,’ featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, in September 2018. His fans have been expecting Slash’s new projects both as a solo artist and as a member of Guns N’ Roses, and their questions were answered during Slash’s latest interview.
In his recent interview, Slash announced that he has spent most of his time during the pandemic writing and demoing new songs for his solo album featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators. He also added that, even before that, they had started working with Duff McKagan for a new Guns N’ Roses record.
He happily announced that the new records of Guns N’ Roses and Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators will probably be released in the coming year. However, he added that making plans during this time is a little risky but that he’s feeling optimistic about new music coming out next year.
Here’s what Slash said during the interview about his album with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators:
“We did a week of initial pre-production – there are 20 songs and we’re gonna start back up next year. I spent a lot of time writing and demoing that stuff.
And prior to that Duff and I did some jamming and we also worked on the Guns record, and I’ve had a couple of ancillary recordings and jams on top of that. So there’s been a lot of stuff going on. I’m really not good at slowing down and just sitting around.”
When asked about when new Guns N’ Roses songs will be released, Slah said:
“I would like to think that we’d have some new stuff out next year – from both camps, I guess. It’s hard to say, but I would like to think we’ll have stuff out next year, yeah.”
