Guns N’ Roses star Slash posted a rare photo of the late Linkin Park legend Chester Bennington and Soundgarden’s late frontman Chris Cornell on his official Instagram page to mourn the passing of the two icons.
As you know, the Linkin Park legend Chester Bennington was one of the most popular figures of the metal scene. While he was the vocalist and co-founding member of Linkin Park, he also worked with many other bands like Dead By Sunrise, Stone Temple Pilots, and Grey Daze.
It was widely known that he was struggling with depression and although he was seemingly leading a happy life surrounded by his loving family, he never stopped battling his demons. Unfortunately, in 2017, he was found dead in Los Angeles and his death was officially ruled as suicide by hanging.
On the other hand, Chris Cornell was the rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist of Soundgarden and sadly, these two legends shared the same fate. Chris was found in his hotel room in 2018, and while there still are some question marks about his passing, his death was also ruled as suicide by hanging.
On Chester’s death anniversary, the lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses, Slash, posted the photos of the two late stars, standing next to each other and smiling in front of hundreds of fans. Although he rarely shares anything on his social media accounts, Slash clearly felt the need to mourn the passing of the two rock icons.
Slash penned a simple and plain message as always saying:
“RIP. Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington.”
