Code Orange talented drummer Jami Morgan was recently interviewed by Radioactive Mike and spread controversial words about Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor.
Code Orange made a featuring track with Corey Taylor back in 2018 and the song has managed to be one of the biggest hits of the band in recent years. Remembering the collaboration between them, Jami Morgan exposed how humbled heart Corey has while he was texting him for the proposal.
By praising his beautiful words, Jami also stated that his attitudes were so naive that he doesn’t want to call him as a rockstar. Instead, he’s just a down-to-earth dude for him.
Here is what Jami said:
“He’s just a great dude. We wanted to do this EP and we knew that we were going towards our record; we had the song, we were in the studio making, I texted him, ‘Hey, I got this part. Would you want to do it?’And he just sent me back instantly, ‘I’m down.’
And no problems, we just did it, like, I laid the track down for him. He’s an awesome dude. He’s not a rockstar dude, he’s just a great, down-to-earth dude.”
Later on, Morgan also exposed his feelings about whenever people ask something about bands to Corey, him talking about Code Orange. Let’s hear what did he say:
“It definitely motivates us. For us, the way I kind of explain it to people, I really feel like we’re doing something different and because of that, there’s not really one linear path for us.
Sometimes it will take a lot of different elements, constantly pushing, constantly doing new things, coming up with new ideas, just chipping in at another piece because there’s no bill for an audience of Code Orange.
It’s got to be pieces of a lot of things because it’s different, so him doing that is really helpful. I don’t know if he knows that or he’s just kind of winging it, I really appreciate that.”
