Current Slipknot guitarist and former Stone Sour member, Jim Root, recently posted a video of an accident on his Instagram account and asked his fans if it’s possible for them to contribute to the fundraiser that he started in support of his friends who had a dangerous accident.

Even though Jim Root is mostly known for his successful career as the guitarist of Slipknot and Stone Sour, he’s also a bike enthusiast. Being in the ‘bike scene,’ he has come to meet and befriend a lot of people with whom he has shared interests. Unfortunately, one of his friends had a bad experience during which he and his family almost lost their lives.

Root wanted to take this matter to his Instagram account in order to both raise awareness and ask his fans to contribute to the fundraiser that he started out to support his friend Brad and his family. Root said that it’s important to remember that ‘anything can happen at any time and you’ll never see it coming’ and that it’s important to help each other in times like this.

Here’s what Jim Root said in the caption of his post:

“Hey everyone, I know a lot of my followers aren’t in the ‘bike scene’ but a really bad thing happened to a really good family I know. Anything can happen at any time and you’ll never see it coming. If anyone could find a way to help out I’ll post a link in my bio for Brad and his family… Even a repost would be appreciated thank you.

From Brad: Again we cannot thank everyone enough for all the offers for help, calls, texts, messages, and comments. I haven’t been able to respond to all of them but I have read each and every comment, and greatly appreciate the kind words. We are all gonna be ok, just banged up and very sore. We will be back home today but it will be a few days before we are back in the shop. I will answer all messages once everything settles down and we can get back to work. If you have any questions about anything please call Cassie at the shop and she can help you. Thank you again for understanding. We love you all!”
