Grammy-winning American metal band, Slipknot, has shared a new tweet to make an important statement about their upcoming performances in Asia via their official Twitter account.

In the tweet, they have announced that their upcoming performances in Singapore and other Asian countries were canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Slipknot had originally scheduled to perform in Singapore on March 24 as part of Singapore Rockfest II. The postponements will not affect just the Singapore dates, but also extend to their appearances in other parts of the region as well, according to LAMC Productions’ announcement on Thursday, Mar 5.

Here’s what they wrote:

“In light of global health concerns, Slipknot have decided to postpone their upcoming Asia Tour, including Knotfest Japan.

While decisions like this are not easy, the safety and well-being of the bands and artists, crew and local employees are also equally affected, and as such, this was the only responsible decision that could be made.

Slipknot and Knotfest will both return to Asia very soon, and at such time that everyone can be ensured of the best experience possible.”
