The official Twitter account of Slipknot released a public statement today to mourn the late drummer Joey Jordison, however, some of the fans did not like it at all.

Former Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison passed away on July 26, 2021, at the age of 46. After playing for Slipknot from 1995 to 2013, the band announced that they parted ways because of Joey’s personal reasons. However, Jordison released a public statement claiming he was fired without any reasonable explanation.

In a rare interview, Joey had five years ago, the drummer claimed that Slipknow fired him via email because they thought he was on drugs. The late drummer stated that being fired ‘cowardly‘ was not the thing he deserved, and he still loves them after having been through so many things together.

Today, Slipknot posted a couple of new tweets on the official Twitter account of the band and mourned the late drummer Joey. However, most of the fans accused Slipknot of kicking him out for drug accusations while he was struggling with health issues and stated that they owe him a proper apology.

Here is what Slipknot wrote in their latest tweet:

“Our hearts go out to Joey’s family and loved ones at this time of tremendous loss. Joey Jordison’s art, talent, and spirit could not be contained or be held back.

Joey’s impact on Slipknot, on our lives, and on the music that he loved, is incalculable. Without him, there would be no us. We mourn his loss with the entire Slipknot family. We love you, Joey.”
