Slipknot and Stone Sour’s lead vocalist, Corey Taylor, recently posted a photo on his Instagram account and announced that he will be one of the guest stars at an online event dedicated to David Bowie, aiming to celebrate his birthday and honor his legacy.

As you may recall, David Bowie passed away in 2016, and his death devastated his family, friends, and everyone in the rock world as no one could accept that he left us so soon. However, knowing that David Bowie aimed to contribute a lot more both to the rock world and to those in need if he had the time, his loved ones decided to create an event in celebration of Bowie’s birthday, January 8.

Aside from his influential career as a rockstar, David Bowie was also known for his wish to help the less fortunate. His sensitivity towards important matters such as Human Rights, Poverty, Children, AIDS & HIV, At-Risk/Disadvantaged Youths, and many more alongside his support for charity organizations such as ‘Save the Children’ and ‘Keep A Child Alive’ were applauded by his devoted fans and fellow rockstars.

This year’s ‘A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day’ was organized in such a way that it could be broadcasted live. In this way, rock fans can purchase a ticket to watch the show, part of which is going to be donated to ‘Save The Children, a charity important to Bowie‘ as Corey Taylor said. With his recent post, Corey Taylor announced that he too will be performing at one of the most prestigious events of 2021, and invited his fans to join him so that they can both enjoy the best live concert of the year and help a good cause.

The artist line-up of this event is very exciting, to say the least. Artists such as Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, Bowie’s close friend and Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman, Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction, Joe Elliott of Def Leppard, William Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins, Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, and many more will be performing in honor of David Bowie.

Here’s what Corey Taylor said in the caption of his recent Instagram post:

“January 8th at 6 PM PT! Join me with ‘A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day’ global concert stream alongside so many incredible artists coming together to celebrate David Bowie and his legacy. Tickets are available NOW at Rolling Live Studios website, to join us from anywhere around the world and watch as much as you’d like for 24 hours! $2 from every ticket purchase will be donated to ‘Save The Children,’ a charity important to Bowie! ⚡”
