KISS’ co-lead singer and bassist Gene Simmons recently posted a tweet on his Twitter account considering his daughter, the singer, poet, and model Sophie Tweed-Simmons, who got nominated for a Juno Award with her latest song.
As you might recall, in the summer of 2020 Sophie took a major step in the music industry and released the hit song ‘Mine‘ with Felix Cartal. She had made it to our headlines earlier with her poetry book ‘Secrets I Would Never Say, But I Would Sing‘ which was released in November 2020, which was also a great success.
Her hard work had paid off in February 2021, when Sophie was awarded a Platinum Record by the Recording Industry Association of America after ‘Mine’ surpassed one million listeners. Gene Simmons had expressed the happiness and proudness that he felt and had shown off his daughter’s achievement.
Just a couple of days ago, Sophie Simmons received some news that made her really happy. Her song with Felix Cartal got nominated for the ‘2021 Dance Recording of the Year‘ Juno Award. Upon hearing this news, Gene Simmons immediately posted a tweet and said that he feels very proud of their ‘amazing daughter Sophie’ who has managed to achieve so much during such a difficult time.
Here’s what Gene Simmons said in his tweet:
“SO PROUD of our amazing daughter SOPHIE. Nominated for a Juno Award, with her Platinum Award Winning record. Wow!”
