The 71-year-old rock veteran Ted Nugent has mourned the loss of one of the legendary drummers of all time, Neil Peart, after his unexpected death from brain cancer.

Ted has shared two different posts on his Facebook page and said goodbye to his old-time friend with an emotional message and an untold story.

First of all, he has posted a piece of news about Neil Perth’s death and said:

Well shit! God rest the great man’s soul. Thank you, Neil, for so enriching our lives with your brilliant art. Your music is with us forever. Godspeed the Spirit jams.”

After a while, he has posted some rare photos of himself with Rush and revealed an untold story about Neil and the band. Here’s what he wrote:

“Rush opened up for me on numerous tours in the 1970s & proved every day that we shared a Herculean James Brown work ethic, love for musical groove adventure, and mutual respect for dedicated musicians and the people that love the music we make.

Neil Peart has left his mark and it is a glowing positive fire of musical genius. Rest in peace, my Canadian blood brother. Jamon!”
