Rock icon Ted Nugent’s wife, Shemane Nugent, has shared a new post on her official Instagram account and penned a striking letter about her life experiences at the age of 57.

She said she realized that even if she tried to do the right thing in her life, people could perceive it wrongly. However, she added that they would never get it. For this reason, she advised her fans to do what they know.

Here’s what Shemane Nugent wrote:

“At the ripe old age of 57, I’ve finally realized that even when you try to do the right thing, inevitably someone might perceive it in the wrong way.

You can scramble and try to explain yourself and how the other person misinterpreted your intentions. Ultimately though, if they didn’t get it the first time, they probably never will. So, do your good, anyway.”

An Instagram user named melirenick commented and said:

“This is so true and you are an inspiration! Love the positivity! Also, this dress is beautiful! What brand is it?”

Another fan named dfwdancefitness wrote:

“It’s disheartening how people will take the good things you do and make you even feel you need to explain.”
