Tesla Bassist who made ‘Eat ‘Em and Smile Tour’ with David Lee Roth back in 1986-1987, Brian Wheat, has made a recent interview with Canada’s ‘The Metal Voice’ and shared the untold details about the times they’ve spent during the tour.
Brian Wheat is the long-time bassist and co-founder of Tesla. As well as being known as a bassist, he can also play bass, piano, and keyboard for many years. He also has a recording studio named ‘J Street Recorders’ and he’s working with legendary bands like Pat Travers, Deftones, Flashfires, and Papa Roach.
In his recent interview Tesla bassist has talked about David Lee Roth and what was it like to be on tour with him. As he admits that David is the same person we see on TV and stage, he shared the untold story of how DVR has wanted to be the manager of them.
Here is what Brian Wheat told to The Metal Voice:
“Well, he’s always in David mode. But to be quite honest with you, I only spoke to him one time the whole tour. We walked into a room, and it was all David mode, and it was all that whole, ‘Hey, it’s Dave TV.’ Yeah, he was like that.
That was my take on him. But, as I said, I only got to spoke to him one time, and he wanted to manage [TESLA]. Talk about coming out of fucking left field. He was just, like, ‘Hey, I really like you guys. I really wanna manage you.’
We were, like, ‘Whoa! Okay, well, we’ve got this management company, Q Prime. You’ve heard of them?’ So that was it. But, yeah, he was that way.”
