The iconic thrash metal guitarist Alex Skolnick has posted a rare photo of Terry Jones, who has passed away at the age of 77, on Instagram page.

Alex has penned down a very emotional farewell letter to Terry in the recent Instagram post. Here’s what wrote:

“Farewell, Terry Jones.

As a kid, I memorized #montypython routines from “Spam,” “The Lumberjack Song” and my fav to this day “The Argument Clinic.” It was a great life lesson, pointing out that as silly as childhood maybe, the absurdity that exists among adults within civilized society is immeasurable. The same can be said of the films.

From @rollingstone’s Obit: “Jones became a director with Monty Python and the Holy Grail — the studios wouldn’t touch it, so it was financed by rock stars like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Jethro Tull. He and Gilliam co-directed, neither having any idea what they were doing; they traded off on alternate days.”

Jones also directed “Life of Brian” (from which the first quote is taken), financed by the peak British rock royalty – none other than George Harrison himself (who is said to have brushed off thank you’s and said simply “I just want to see it.”). “Brian” is hilarious but also offers a great lesson in questioning herd mentalities and not accepting organized religions and other belief systems at face value.

RIP #terryjones #terryjonesmontypython”
