The Beatles star Paul McCartney mourned the death of Al Schmitt by sharing a new post on his official Instagram account.
Albert Harry Schmitt won a total of twenty-one Grammy awards, and he worked with such names as Ray Charles, Paul McCartney, and many more. Unfortunately, he passed away in last month at the age of 91.
Paul wanted to pay his tribute to the legendary producer and shared a picture of themselves before revealing his feelings about his passing. As you can see, they were chatting, laughing, and enjoying their companies.
In the caption, Paul mentioned how sad he is feeling about the death of Al and praised his talent by saying that he was a fantastic guy. Afterward, he sends his condolences to Schmitt’s family and his friends.
Here is what Paul McCartney wrote:
“So sad to hear of the passing of my friend Al Schmitt. Al was the lead engineer in charge of the ‘Kisses on the Bottom’ session and was a fantastic guy besides being one of the world’s great engineers.
He always had a twinkle in his eye and was ready for a laugh but most importantly when we had done what we thought was a good take and went into the control room to hear the playback it sounded fantastic. His self-effacing skills always came through.
I send my love to his family and will always remember him with great fondness. Thanks for everything Al. Lots of love, Paul”
