One of the biggest fan pages dedicated to the legend himself, the great lead singer of Queen, Freddie Mercury, shared never-seen-before pictures of Freddie‘s last public appearance on its Instagram page.

After a long denial and running away from ‘rumors’ of the press, Mercury’s HIV positivity finally was official thanks to stalking photographers. After Freddie Mercury finished his work, which was everything to him before his death, he retired to his home where he, on the evening of November 24, 1991, died at the age of 45 at his home in Kensington. The cause of Mercury‘s death was bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS.

Recently one of the biggest fan pages of Freddie Mercury shared some photographs of Mercury’s last public appearance at the 11th Brit Awards, on February 18, 1990, at Earls Court, London, on their Instagram page. The other members of Queen knew that their bandmate and friend was very ill, but this was not publicly known at that time.

Here is what a fan page said about recently published photos:

“Some photographs of Freddie’s last public appearance. He still looked so great in blue, as always.

It was the final official public appearance from Freddie at the 11th Brit Awards, held on February 18, 1990, at Earls Court, London. Privately, the other members of Queen were aware that their enigmatic bandmate and friend was gravely ill, but this was not public knowledge at the time.”

They also added a quotation from Queen’s lead guitarist Brian May:

“We didn’t know actually what was wrong for a very long time. We never talked about it and it was a sort of unwritten law that we didn’t because Freddie didn’t want to. He just told us that he wasn’t up to doing tours, and that’s as far as it went.

Gradually, I suppose in the last year and a bit, it became obvious what the problem was, or at least fairly obvious. We didn’t know for sure.”
