The iconic star of The Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger, penned a heartwrenching letter after the sad news of losing the architect of rock and roll, Little Richard, at the age of 88, yesterday.

Mick Jagger called Little Richard as the biggest inspiration of his younghood and revealed the untold truth of how he was watching Richard’s movies all day of the week while they were touring.

Here is the emotional letter of Mick Jagger to Little Richard:

“I’m so saddened to hear about the passing of Little Richard, he was the biggest inspiration of my early teens and his music still has the same raw electric energy when you play it now as it did when it first shot through the music scene in the mid 50’s.

When we were on tour with him I would watch his moves every night and learn from him how to entertain and involve the audience and he was always so generous with advice to me.

He contributed so much to popular music. I will miss you, Richard, God bless.”

An Instagram user named rolling.falpal shared his condolences to Richard:

“Sorry for your loss Mick. Another legend gone but never forgotten. 💕”

Another Mick Jagger fan named Bob wrote this:

“Haha! If anyone obviously picked up on his aura it was you Mick.”

A user named Sam showed off his admiration to Little Richard:

“What an incredible talent and influence and inspiration.”
