Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello mourned the death of legendary NFL player, Gale Sayers, by sharing a new post on his official Instagram account.

Gale Sayers was an American football player who was a specialist in both halfbacks and returns in the National Football League. In his career, he only player under Chicago Bears jersey in between 1965-1971.

Back in March 2017, Gale was diagnosed with dementia, and the doctors said that the reason behind this disease is most likely his football career. He had suffered from this disease for a while and passed away yesterday at the age of 77.

While mourning the death of Gale, Tom wanted to show how a great person he was by mentioning the fact that Gale earned the NFL Courage Award but he wanted to give it to his friend who was dying of cancer. In this way, Tom paid his tribute to the iconic player.

“Rest In Peace Gale Sayers, great Chicago running back & class act. The film Brian’s Song depicts his friendship with other Bear running back Brian Piccolo, they were the first interracial roommates in the history of the NFL.

Sayers won the NFL Courage Award and gave it to his friend Brian who was dying of cancer.”
