Back in 2018, the legendary progressive metal band, Tool, announced a ban on smartphones and cameras during their live shows. But, only one year later, it seems frontman Maynard James Keenan no longer cares about the previously stated ban.
An Instagram user recently posted a rare video of the prog legends’ performance on her social media. It would be fair to say that she, in some people’s opinion, disrespectfully ignored that anti-recording policy.
Looking at an April 2018 interview with Maynard James Keenan, he warned fans about the filming policy, even stating that those who fail to adhere to the policy may be kicked out of the show.
Update: We’ve received feedback from some of the fans who attended a recent Tool performance informing us that Maynard did allow fans to record videos and photos, but only while the band performed the last two songs of their show. We apologize for any misunderstanding.
