Toto guitarist Steve Lukather spoke in a recent interview with Jeremy White Podcast and talked about the time when he first introduced to The Beatles legend, Paul McCartney.
In the conversation, Steve Lukather mentioned why he was so excited and happy to meet such a legend as McCartney and stated that The Beatles was the reason why he started to play music.
While Lukather was pointing out what an awesome person Paul McCartney is, he also said that Paul was creating the energy in the rehearsal as they were playing Stevie Wonder’s ‘I Was Made to Love Her’ song.
Additionally, Steve mentioned that they hung out with Paul after the rehearsal, and said that it was one of the greatest days of his life. In this way, Lukather showed his utmost respect for Paul McCartney.
Here is what Steve Lukather said about the time he met Paul McCartney:
“I saw nothing weird except Bubbles, man – that was kind of weird. But the first time we actually met was on the McCartney duet, and I was mind-fucked to meet Paul McCartney because The Beatles are the reason why I play music in the first place.
And he and Linda were awesome – he came in, he was great, we started jamming ‘I Was Made to Love Her’ – that’s Stevie Wonder song – and that created the energy of the sessions.
Paul took a shot at Jeff and me and hired us to be in his movie, and we hung out with him and talked. And it was one of the best days ever.“
