Twisted Sister’s frontman, Dee Snider, recently posted a couple of tweets on his Twitter account and responded to a fan’s question about whether he is a vinyl collector, and revealed that he doesn’t listen to a lot of music during his time off.
As you know, Dee Snider started climbing the ladder of fame in the ’80s with his career as the lead vocalist of the metal band Twisted Sister. However, he shocked his fans with his decision to leave the band soon after they achieved mainstream fame. Nonetheless, he remained active in the metal scene with his solo and side projects.
Snider is one of the metal stars who enjoy using their social media accounts and he often prefers his Twitter account to share his views on social and political matters, to talk about rock and metal music, and of course, to interact with his fans and answer their questions.
Recently, a fan tagged Dee Snider in a tweet and asked him whether he’s a ‘vinyl head like Hemry Rollins or Mike Portnoy.’ To this, Dee Snider responded by saying that he doesn‘t even ‘own a stereo‘ which shocked his fans who would’ve expected such an influential metal-head to be more into listening to music.
After one of his fans said that this is surprising, Snider explained the reason why he doesn’t listen to music very often. He said that his passion became his ‘life‘s work‘ and that oddly, he doesn’t listen to music that much during his time off. His answer received numerous comments most of which stated that this is understandable and respectable.
Here’s what a fan told Dee Snider:
“Can’t wait for the AJ Pero tribute. Will be playing these in honor of him. Are you a vinyl head like Hemry Rollins or Mike Portnoy? Just curious.”
To which he responded:
“I don’t even own stereo.”
And a fan replied:
“Really? That’s interesting.”
To which Dee Snider responded:
“My passion became my life’s work and oddly, I don’t listen to much music on my time off.”
